  • Well folks, I went back to 26 The Crescent ,Ayr ,and this time we stayed for 2 nights. Now for a 5* , and the only 5* accommodation in Ayr, I thought it would be hard to make it better, but, when we arrived on the Friday 28th March 2014, Michael said we had been upgraded !, I thought How can this get better than last year ?. We were shown to a room that was spacious, tastefully decorated & furnished & with none other than a 4 poster bed with all the trimmings & a bathroom that was easily the size of some of the pokey rooms you get in big corporate hotels. You can’t get better than this for the money and the 2 best hosts in the West of Scotland & the best breakfast you’ll ever have in Scotland with a warm welcome to boot. Folks your throwing your money away ,if you want luxury & a great Scottish welcome when you visit Ayr ,this is the place to go …..Its a NO BRAINER !

  • My fiancee and I stayed at 26 The Crescent in early April for our final two nights in Scotland. Joyce and Michael helped us feel right at home, made sure we had a parking spot directly in front of the B&B, and cooked a delicious breakfast! They even went out of their way to accommodate an early breakfast so my fiancee could make his tee time. The room was comfortable, clean and supplied with nice-smelling soap and lotion, plenty of television channels, cookies and bottled water. If our travels bring us back to Ayr, we will return!

  • My wife and I stayed here for two nights and were very impressed.
As we turned into the crescent shaped avenue which is tree-lined on both sides with trees which were just dropping their blossom of pinks and creams causing the tarmac to be carpeted in confetti like flowers we turned to each other and smiled. This is the nicest area in Ayr.
We were met with a warm welcome from both Michael and Joyce who showed us into their beautiful lounge area and made us feel at home.
Our lovely room was spotlessly clean with a large modern bathroom and a nice view of the surrounding cottage gardens.
Breakfast was the best, where we were spoiled for choice, with real quality cooking and top-class
friendly service and on walking up to the shops after our fill, the few people we passed on the crescent all greeted us with a “good morning”.
This is a well deserved 5 star Guest House which is run by two genuinely warm people who really care about their guests, have an eye for detail and….. make it look easy!
Big thanks to Michael & Joyce

  • This is a 5 star bed and breakfast and deserves all the stars.
A much smaller version of Downton Abbey but just as nice.
The entire place is always very clean and impeccably maintained.

The bed is as comfortable as you would want and the room well equipped.
All the little things you need are there.
    Plenty of tea, coffee etc.
The actual bar of soap in the bath (shower in our case) and the bottles of lotion and shampoo. Many places nowadays just use a dispenser of liquid soap for everything. Efficient and cost saving but The Crescent does it the hard way and that is what makes them special.
They do everything with their guests in mind.

Breakfast is the other part of the equation.
Made to order, very tasty with a highly polished silver service.
    Makes you feel special.
Plenty of cereals, juices and yogurts on hand also.
    Can’t be faulted.

There is a sign in their dining room that says something about arriving as guests and leaving as friends.
That is exactly what you feel like when you when you leave.
That is what makes owners Mike and Joyce so special.
